Readings for 29,30 May & comments

The Bible readings for Tuesday 29 and Wednesday 30 May are -- Lev 7:22-8:36; Ps 25:16-22; Pro 6:9-11; Mk 2:23-3:12.
I'm thinking of speaking on Pro 6:9-11 and the previous 3 verses this Sunday night (2 June). Any thoughts?

Proverbs 6:6 (EDWJ Bible) says: "Go to the ant, you slacker! Observe its ways and become wise." What can we learn from the ant? When I preached on this at the evening service on 3 June I suggested the following.
1. Get prepared (6:8)
2. Get motivated (6:7)
3. Get to work (6:9-11)

My Wednesday night homegroup suggested the following as well --discipline, persistence, cooperation and purpose.

It is helpful to be reading the Gospels at the same time as the Books of the Law. Because we can see how Jesus handled the Law even as we read it. In Mark 2 and 3 we see the Pharisees accusing Jesus of not keeping the Sabbath. Jesus points to the place of Law by teaching that "The Sabbath was made for man and not man for the Sabbath" (Mk 2:27).

In the following verse, he uses the title "Son of Man" for himself. But he is also the "Son of God". Mark declared it in opening his Gospel (1:1), God declared it after Jesus' baptism (1:11) and here Mark tells us that even the evil spirits declared it (2:11).
