In Deut 6:10-12, Moses points to a great temptation that creeps up on all of us -- the temptation to forget about God when things are going well. That temptation is especially insidious when our comfort is the result of the labours of others rather than our own. We don't seem to have much trouble remembering God when we're in the pit or the mud (as in Ps 40:1)or surrounded by trouble (Ps 40:12)!

The way to defeat this temptation is given in Deut 6:5: Love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your strength.
