While the cloud rested over the Tabernacle the people were to remain encamped. When the cloud lifted they were to break camp and follow the cloud till it stoppoed again. Breaking and setting up camp was a lot of hard work. (I speak from the experience of many camping holidays.) Just packing up and reassembling the Tabernacle was a major logistical task in itself. It makes me wonder what the people thought when it was time to move on. Were they reluctant to pack up and leave their settled campsite for some other unknown place? Or were they excited, knowing that this was the next step in their journey?

What about us today? Are we reluctant or excited about moving on?
