David had sinned. The result was misery (Ps 32:3-4). But that was now in the past. The guilt of his sin had been taken away (v5) and he was now happy again (v1,2). What had he done to transform his condition? We might have expected something like: "Then I went up to your dwelling place and presented my sin offerings to the LORD." But no! He says he acknowledged (v5) and confessed (v6) his sin to the LORD. He recommends this as the way to joyful deliverance -- "Therefore let everyone who is faithful pray to You." I gladly recommend it too!
