About Me
- Name: Ps John
- Location: Ashfield, Sydney, Australia
Hi and welcome. Ashfield Baptist Church is a "caring community church sharing God's love". We are very diverse in our nationalities, backgrounds and ages, but united in our desire to grow spiritually and to reach out and help others. Our vision is "to be a body of Christ-like people living out the great commandment and the great commission in the Holy Spirit's power". This blog is mainly for people connected with Ashfield Baptist Church. It has been set up as an "info & chat space" as we start the "THRU IN 2" challenge. This is our program for reading the Bible right through during 2007 & 2008. Many are using the Every Day With Jesus Bible which also has daily devotions from Selwyn Hughes. As we read through the Bible together over these two years, we can use this blog to share insights, stories, reflections, questions etc. The goal is to grow spiritually together. So leave your comments. Together we can help each other grow. Blessings. Ps John. What a man! David was valiant, a warrior, a warrior, eloquent, handsome (with beautiful eyes), young and healthy, and musical (1 Sam 16:12,18). These attributes would certainly help David in his future role as King, but more important was that the Spirit of the LORD was upon him (16:13) and the LORD was with him (16:18). The LORD saw beyond David's physical appearance into his heart (16:7) and was pleased with what he saw. For how many people is that the case?
In my "Panoramic View of John" (see Mon 5 & Tues 6 Nov) I suggested either John 3:16 or 14:6 as the key verse in John. One of the guys from the church told me that he had been struck by John 5:24 in his recent readings through John. He thought this too was a good contender for key verse.
"I assure you: Anyone who hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not come under judgment but has passed from death to life."
I think he has a pretty good case.
